Cousin Challenge!

I just participated in my first challenge! O.k. so does it count if my cousin and I made up our own rules? Haha! My cousin Sheri lives in California. I am proud and very happily to say that I had a part in her scrapbooking addiction. As we were chatting online just a bit earlier we both decided to pick a card off of SCS and make "our versions".
Here is the link to my inspiration.
Here is my version...

My camera battery died. This pic is from my webcam. I used the SU! Simply Said set on page 59 of the current catalog. Order this today for upcoming Valentine's Day Cards, straight from my website here.

Here is the link to Sheri's Inspiration.

Here is a pic of her card....

This was sooo much fun! I think we should do more!!! Something even funnier..She has a cat named Blade. On Halloween, we just recently adopted a Cat named Willow. Look at how much alike they look.

Willow....

Here is Blade laying on Mark while he is playing a video game. Blade actually looks thinner in this pic...teee heee Is that not soooo funny?!! I am a total animal person..not sooo much a cat person. I love the biggest slobbbbery doggie kisses possible. YUMMMY!!!! Now that we have Willow I totally get the whole Speedy the cat thing from Faith (Markie's Mom).

Talk to you tomorrow!

On a roll.....

I hope these are just the first of many cards that I am able to get done today. Tomorrow is traffic school day. :-(
My inspiration came from SCS this link. You might say...What the heck??!!! I don't know either, but somehow I came up with these 3 cards all from looking at that card. I knew I had been wanting to use the green and white dot and the candy house paper that I picked up from Joann's not too long ago. I had to use it before Christams passed me by.

I am still practicing my picture taking. But I am so happy with the way the color combo worked. I just had to still have my pink in there somewhere.
I hope everyone is having a great Holiday so far.
Love, Carrie

I am not getting dressed!

I have decided that I am not going out or getting dressed at all today. Instead, I am surfing the net and hopefully going to become productive at some point. I was checking out Enjoli's blog and noticed her shout out to her friend Joy and her shot at blog candy....stop on by and check it out!

Hang tight, I just might actually get something done today.....or not.

Lady Bugs EVERYWHERE!!

I think I forgot to mention the invitations I was asked to make for a little girl turning 2. All her mom said was to make it with a lady bug theme and she needed to mail each one out. Hmmmmm, how do I not take the chance and embellish the crud out of these invites!!!! I have 2 boys...there will be no stinking ladybugs anywhere around them.

Problem: I had to make them flat so that they don't require a ton of postage. Solution: Make the invitation double as its own envie.

Problem: With the speeding ticket and round of books due, how do I not spend any more $$ and use what I have? Solution: Stamp, Stamp, Stamp!!!

Problem: Can't use a ton of bling. Solution: Yeah RIGHT!!!! This is my time to shine! I used the Gelly Roll glitter pen and smaller jewels.

TaaaaaDaaaaaa!!!! What you don't see (for privacy) is the missing piece of vellum that had the party information printed on it and Fancy Scallop edge punch from Martha Stewart on the bottom. This piece of vellum was place in the middle panel under the big ladybug and 2 small flowers.
She seemed very happy with all 18 of them. I had a blast with all of the challenges.

Got to go get sleep for tomorrow!

Carrie

I LOVE MY BIG SHOT!!!!

If you do not have a Big Shot Die Cut Machine, you are really missing out. I use it for all of my embossing with the Cuttlebug embossing folders. I used it in this pic for the pillow boxes and the small white scallop portion of the tags. The Big Shot is available on my Stampin' Up! website and can be delivered right to your door! I highly recommend the pillow box die and the Baskets & Blooms dies as one of your first to own. These two are just a couple of many dies that are only available at Stampin' Up! If you are close to me, you know if I can get something cheaper somewhere else I will. These dies can't be bought anywhere else, and follow my #2 rule...If I have to pay full price can I make enough $1 gifts to justify the purchase? HECK YEAH!!! And then some. I was in Wallmart, in the gift wrap section and saw a pink and green pillow box that could have been used as a gift card holder. It was for sale for $1.77. The Pillow die is $19.95. That means with my rule, I would have to be able to make 20 gifts with it. Let me tell you, I made 48 of these and have already started selling them for $1.50. HOW SMART AM I??!!

In the picture above is what you will make at my Boxes, Bags and Tags party on Dec. 13th. You can always check out my events in my calendar on my Stampin' Up! website.

Just a reminder, place an order online and get a great gift from me! Start shopping the Hoiday Extravaganza!! Sale starts on Thursday!!!!

Ohhhhh Christmas TREE!!!!

After my fit the other day, I was able to work a little bit of the Bug out of my Bah Hum. I am thinking of making my space at work into Whoville. And who know's maybe dress at the Grinch on Judging day. I was totally not kidding when I said that the secretaries get really into the decorations at my work. The rest of the building even takes a stroll down to our area and votes on the "Cube" they like best. Here is the Christmas Tree I made for the top of my desk. For those of you who might work with me....appearantly it is known as the "waiting zone" or "coffe lounge", Tee Heee...i get a lot of social visitors. Teee Hee....I am quietly sooo freaking excited that my 7 yr old just got his first note home from school that his "talking" disrupted the class. MY BOY!!! YIPPPEEEE! Uhh emmmm......Sorry got a little excited....Back to the tree...

Of coarse it is pink and green, with tons of diamond dust and glitter. I used silver star garland and wrapped it in pieces around a pencil for the exploding whimsical top. I was really loving this tree...And you know that means a lot coming from me at Christmas time.

It was my turn to help with Birthdays this month and I made a LOVELY stair step fold card. Can you tell, I am so happy to finally be creating lately?!

I used Stampin' Up! Birthday Whimsy set. This technique is so easy and easily found on SCS under techniques.

I have more to share tomorrow, and a whole day off with permission to scrap all day!!! Yippeee!

Yippeeee Yahoooo!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I found the little bag that had the stuff for my Mother in Law. I am so happy. I hope she likes everything that I am sending to her. I am sooo silly. It was in the stuff left over from the wanna be craft sale that I had on Saturday. Like, what the heck was it doing in there?! I knew it had to be here or somewhere at work. It was really driving me nutty.

O.k. off to bed, I am so excited for next week. Thanksgiving and I am off of work!!! Woo Hoo!!

Love ya!

Yiopppeee!!! Booohooo!!!

Ok, so I have been making stuff to send to my MIL in Seattle. To kind of show her examples of what she can do. I started her in scrapbooking about 2 years ago and she went back to Seattle and went crazy buying stuff and even has a room that is dedicated to it. She has not done really anyting in the last 2 years. But, she is still buying stuf...it's HILARIOUS!!!! So I wanted to show her some stuff to do that could be quick little bursts of accomplishment. Here is what I came up with... I used the Always set that she purchased from SU!Some quick little tags from the hostess set Dear Friends... A card using a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, the Holiday Wheel and embossing powder from SU!
And a quick little Halloween card using the Haunting wheel by SU!
And a sample using the cupcake wheel using embossing powder.
That's the yipppeee! part. The Boooohooo part is that I brought the bag of samples to work and between work and back home, I have misplaced it. I made a couple more samples, hopefully I will find these and mail them off later.
Just wanted to vent....again.

Get Ready!!!

Now that my mommy is getting better, and I am now a Demo for Stampin Up, and my Speeding ticket is due, and I need to go to Driver Safety and another class is coming with more books to buy....I need to get busy making some money!

I AM HAVING A CRAFT FAIR!!!!

If you didn't hear about my last yard sale, I made about $400.00. We have a large front yard and live on a busy little street. I am making this offer to anyone that is interested. You can bring a table and set up on Nov. 15th (Saturday). Contact me for confirmation and more details. This is a trial run for the day after Thankgiving. There will not be any charge on the 15th. All I ask is that if you are a SU! Demo, please do not advertise that you are a Demo. You can sell anything that has your name and info. I just would like to use this opportunity to maybe gain some customers and have the possibility of booking some workshops. If we have 10 tables with SU! info on it, it may be overwhelming.

Spread the word and let me know. It would be great to have quilters, painters...anything. I am so excited to get busy making some great stuff. I hope you are too.

Love,
Carrie
