Ahhh...Time off

Boy the time is flying by! Before vacation started I planned to get current again in my scrapbooks and to have at least 100 cards made.....o.k. maybe not quite 100....but close! I have played the Wii until my arm is sore, and have totally caught up on all of my missed episodes of icarly and Oswald. LOL! So until today I have been a bum. But I have had more time to spend with my boys and some of their friends....so all is good.

I did get to finsh the Autumn themed wedding album for a friends daughter. I set soo many records it was rediculous!!! Not one jewel....GASP! (breathing into a paper bag)...and I only stuck to one role of ribbon...breathe girls.....and finished it in 48 hours! It actually looks good. I will take pics and post them later. For now I have Birthday themed cards that I got done. The album and cards were on my To Do list and now I can check them off!

I have just started as a Stampin' Up! Demo and just got my first order and with free shipping. So I am going to start posting a ton of projects where I have a chance to use my new stuff. YEAH FOR ME! YEAH FOR ME!

Here is Partygirl Bella from Stamping Bella. I used some Birthday paper that I picked up at JoAnns and then used the Cupcake Wheel that can be found on my SU! website. The second type of card is all SU! When I make a card I try to use up all of the DP (Design Paper) that I have used and make less leftovers as possible, so I acutally have made 4 so far and will make as many as I can.
I use Kraft 12x12 paper and cut it into 4's. Making 4- 6x6 and then just scored them in half. I used the Happy Birthday Wheel and then embossed it using White EP (Embossing Powder). After trimming closely I matted it in Night of Navy and then matted all of that onto a retired paper of SU!. I used my new SU! Star punch on the design paper and popped it on up with dimensionals or pop dots. SO EASY!! I have highlighted the supplies that can easily be found on my SU! Website. On the inside of the card is from the Full of Life stamp that can also be found on my website. It reads: "May every part of your Birthday have happy in it".

Contact me if you have any questions at all. I am also sending out a special Thank You for everyone that places an order from my SU! Website.

I am so glad that this class is over! With everything that was going on with my mommy, I am so happy to be done with my Ethics class. Now on to Communications....I don't think I will have any problems with this class...whew! Happy Birthday to Hubby!

Yippee! Another reason to get the boys scrappin! Both of the boys and I made our own birthday cards for David. They stamped their images from Penny Blacks and is called Party Animal! I found it at Hobby Lobby on Sale. Here is a pic of the boys making their cards.

After we made cards, we decorated boxes to put our gifts in. The boys each had a pack of boxers (What dad doesn't want boxers for his B-Day?) I had my listening ears on before the holidays and heard hubby say just one time that he needed a 2003 Suzuki GSXR Swing Arm something aruthers. LOL! Appearantly I had enough information to do a search on EBay and got what I needed! YEAH FOR ME! YEAH FOR ME!! YEAH FOR ME!!! Here is a pic of all of our cards and our gift boxes.

We used the SU! Happy Birthday Wheel (Retired) and Birthdy Whimsy Stamp set (Retired). On the card that I made using the "It's All Good" stamp set on page 148 of the fall-winter 2008 catalog.

Recipe:
After stamping the Happy from the It's All Good set in Bold Bright colors Brilliant Blue, Real Red and Glorious Green, I punched them out with a 1 1/4 inch circle punch.
- I matted the design paper on Whisper White and temporarily placed it on the card using a temporary adhesive.
-I punched out the striped design paper with the 1 1/4 inch cirlcle and put those to the side.
-I then took my 1 1/2 circle punch and re-punched the cirlces on the striped design paper. This gives the circles room to move.
-I went back to the happy circles and took some yellow embroidery floss and sandwhiched it between the happy and the striped punched circles. Be sure to leave room on the ends of the floss to hang.
-Take off the striped paper panel and sandwich the flossed circles inbetweent he striped panel and the front of the card.
-Trim off extra floss.
-VOILA!!!! Start spinning!

ROFL!!!

I follow a blog called ICE Escape. She was sent this poem and I just thought it was soooo funny and TRUE!!!! I just had to post it here!
Twas the night before Christmas, I'm glued to the tree.
I'm wondering what Santa brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock or chipboard or lace?Or a Cricut, I said, with a smile on my face.
And that's when I heard him,"Hi Santa, " I said
"You know....good little girls should be in their beds".
"I know I should Santa,and now I've got caught.
But I was just so excited To see what you brought."
"Well, let's take a look in this room where you work.
He shook his head quickly,And left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim as he put it in gear."You've got enough crap,I'll see you next year!"

When Boys Scrap...

Usually my boys are really good about staying out of my scrap area. As I was cleaning up my room and left to put some stuff up, this is what I walked back into.. Notice that the cars are resting on the arm of my paper cutter.

I knew that my 7 yr old would not have done this. Blakey had to show me his cool trick he said.

Thanks for letting me share a funny with you.

A new Addiction...

OMG!!! I have seen the popularity of these stamped on candles grow into craziness. I tried my first one the other day, and loved it. I took it to work, and before I remembered to take a picture...it was Hijacked!! LOL! I know who has it and tonight it is playing a part in a Secret Santa "Punk'd" Edition. I know...huh? One of the girls is sooo bad about trying to find out who her Secret Santa is, and the girl who drew her name is soooo obvious. I had to throw the guesser off and tell the Santa to put my candle in tomorrow's gift (which is #2 of #3). We have the option of putting clues on the gift for each day. This match is sooo obvious that clues can't even be given. Still with me?? K, so tomorrow the guesser will open up my candle and be totally confused. Instead, I made her her own candle. She is currently going through Chemo for Breast Cancer. Her area is all decked out in Pink.....I JUST LOOOOVE IT!!!!! So here is the candle I made for her area.

Here is the front with the stamps that were used on it. The snowflake is just a generic Hobby Lobby stamp, and the Survivor stamp is "G10477 Survivor Calligraphy" from Paper Inspirations.

Here is the back with jewels and the snowflake stamp.

I am pretty happy with the way that this turned out. Not only do I love Deborah, She is one of my biggest supporters. I would make her a thousand of these, if it could make things easier during this tough time.

Posts are going to be a little on the light side until Tuesday. I am the final week of a class and my mom has her last surgery on Monday, which is when my final paper is due. WHEW!!! Busy week! After next week, I will be on Winter Break for 2 whole weeks. YIPPEE!

A Texas Christmas

Howdy Ya'all!!!
I have had this cute little snowman stamp for years. Almost 6...I think. This is the first time it has been inked up. Poor, poor little negleted snowmens. Ha ha! I decided to try them out with a little flocking on them.

I thought it would be a cute little card to send to to my friends and family in California. The inside is stamped with a Merry Christmas in a Western font. I got the cute little buckle on clearance in the leather section of JoAnn's. I think it supposed to be used for key chains or leather "thingy majiggy's".

I'VE BEEN ELVED!!!

O.K., so those darn secretary's at work got me! We are playing this christmas game. (I totally have my eyebrow raised and do not look happy!) A gift magically appears on your desk with a sign that says you have been decked. (Insert eyebrow and smile/smirk here). They mean deck the halls deck....hmmm...grrmp! Anyways, after you have been decked then the next day you have to deck 2 people and leave a gift on each of anyone's desk. ?? I get one gift and have to go rush and get 2 more gifts within 24 hrs???? I was stressing all of the way home, got home and this is what I came up with.... It says: Dreams are today's answers to tomorrows questions.

YEAH FOR ME! YEAH FOR ME! YEAH FOR ME!!

This is the one for lucky person #2....... It says: Keep company with those who make you better.

YEAH FOR ME! YEAH FOR ME! YEAH FOR ME!! YEAH FOR ME! YEAH FOR ME! YEAH FOR ME!! YEAH FOR ME! YEAH FOR ME! YEAH FOR ME!! YEAH FOR ME!!

Believe me, I am a total craft-a-holic. I just hate being made to do it, and I have never been really excited about the "have to" of gift giving for Christmas. I think that it has been turned into something so materialistic and has loss the true meaning of gift giving.

I hope you all enjoy these. They are just decorated ceramic tiles with vellum or clear stickers, some ribbon and flowers. So stinking easy!!! Everyone in my office will be getting one of these this year. Actually the most expensive part is getting the stands for the tiles.

Enjoy! Love,

Carrie

About time for a Bella!!!

It feels like forever since I have done a Bella card! To tell you the truth, I think I really got into the whole coloring thing and did it almost to death!!! LOL!!! All you sistah's probably know exactly what I mean. I have been missing my Bellas, and just had to make this card. I know that this is sooo similar to many Snowbunny Bella examples out there, but I had to try it anyway. I used just regular colored pencils, glitter glue on the pom pom's and puff paint on the cuff of the jacket and boots and the rim of her hood.I made her a bookmard to match. I added a large diamond jewel thing to the end of the ribbon. I hate it when the bookmark slides out of my book in my bag, so I added my version of some weight in the form of *BLING**!I hope you like it. It feels good to get back to my bella's.

Cousin Challenge!

I just participated in my first challenge! O.k. so does it count if my cousin and I made up our own rules? Haha! My cousin Sheri lives in California. I am proud and very happily to say that I had a part in her scrapbooking addiction. As we were chatting online just a bit earlier we both decided to pick a card off of SCS and make "our versions".
Here is the link to my inspiration.
Here is my version...

My camera battery died. This pic is from my webcam. I used the SU! Simply Said set on page 59 of the current catalog. Order this today for upcoming Valentine's Day Cards, straight from my website here.

Here is the link to Sheri's Inspiration.

Here is a pic of her card....

This was sooo much fun! I think we should do more!!! Something even funnier..She has a cat named Blade. On Halloween, we just recently adopted a Cat named Willow. Look at how much alike they look.

Willow....

Here is Blade laying on Mark while he is playing a video game. Blade actually looks thinner in this pic...teee heee Is that not soooo funny?!! I am a total animal person..not sooo much a cat person. I love the biggest slobbbbery doggie kisses possible. YUMMMY!!!! Now that we have Willow I totally get the whole Speedy the cat thing from Faith (Markie's Mom).

Talk to you tomorrow!

On a roll.....

I hope these are just the first of many cards that I am able to get done today. Tomorrow is traffic school day. :-(
My inspiration came from SCS this link. You might say...What the heck??!!! I don't know either, but somehow I came up with these 3 cards all from looking at that card. I knew I had been wanting to use the green and white dot and the candy house paper that I picked up from Joann's not too long ago. I had to use it before Christams passed me by.

I am still practicing my picture taking. But I am so happy with the way the color combo worked. I just had to still have my pink in there somewhere.
I hope everyone is having a great Holiday so far.
Love, Carrie

I am not getting dressed!

I have decided that I am not going out or getting dressed at all today. Instead, I am surfing the net and hopefully going to become productive at some point. I was checking out Enjoli's blog and noticed her shout out to her friend Joy and her shot at blog candy....stop on by and check it out!

Hang tight, I just might actually get something done today.....or not.

Lady Bugs EVERYWHERE!!

I think I forgot to mention the invitations I was asked to make for a little girl turning 2. All her mom said was to make it with a lady bug theme and she needed to mail each one out. Hmmmmm, how do I not take the chance and embellish the crud out of these invites!!!! I have 2 boys...there will be no stinking ladybugs anywhere around them.

Problem: I had to make them flat so that they don't require a ton of postage. Solution: Make the invitation double as its own envie.

Problem: With the speeding ticket and round of books due, how do I not spend any more $$ and use what I have? Solution: Stamp, Stamp, Stamp!!!

Problem: Can't use a ton of bling. Solution: Yeah RIGHT!!!! This is my time to shine! I used the Gelly Roll glitter pen and smaller jewels.

TaaaaaDaaaaaa!!!! What you don't see (for privacy) is the missing piece of vellum that had the party information printed on it and Fancy Scallop edge punch from Martha Stewart on the bottom. This piece of vellum was place in the middle panel under the big ladybug and 2 small flowers.
She seemed very happy with all 18 of them. I had a blast with all of the challenges.

Got to go get sleep for tomorrow!
Love,
Carrie

I LOVE MY BIG SHOT!!!!

If you do not have a Big Shot Die Cut Machine, you are really missing out. I use it for all of my embossing with the Cuttlebug embossing folders. I used it in this pic for the pillow boxes and the small white scallop portion of the tags. The Big Shot is available on my Stampin' Up! website and can be delivered right to your door! I highly recommend the pillow box die and the Baskets & Blooms dies as one of your first to own. These two are just a couple of many dies that are only available at Stampin' Up! If you are close to me, you know if I can get something cheaper somewhere else I will. These dies can't be bought anywhere else, and follow my #2 rule...If I have to pay full price can I make enough $1 gifts to justify the purchase? HECK YEAH!!! And then some. I was in Wallmart, in the gift wrap section and saw a pink and green pillow box that could have been used as a gift card holder. It was for sale for $1.77. The Pillow die is $19.95. That means with my rule, I would have to be able to make 20 gifts with it. Let me tell you, I made 48 of these and have already started selling them for $1.50. HOW SMART AM I??!!

In the picture above is what you will make at my Boxes, Bags and Tags party on Dec. 13th. You can always check out my events in my calendar on my Stampin' Up! website.

Just a reminder, place an order online and get a great gift from me! Start shopping the Hoiday Extravaganza!! Sale starts on Thursday!!!!

Ohhhhh Christmas TREE!!!!

After my fit the other day, I was able to work a little bit of the Bug out of my Bah Hum. I am thinking of making my space at work into Whoville. And who know's maybe dress at the Grinch on Judging day. I was totally not kidding when I said that the secretaries get really into the decorations at my work. The rest of the building even takes a stroll down to our area and votes on the "Cube" they like best. Here is the Christmas Tree I made for the top of my desk. For those of you who might work with me....appearantly it is known as the "waiting zone" or "coffe lounge", Tee Heee...i get a lot of social visitors. Teee Hee....I am quietly sooo freaking excited that my 7 yr old just got his first note home from school that his "talking" disrupted the class. MY BOY!!! YIPPPEEEE! Uhh emmmm......Sorry got a little excited....Back to the tree...

Of coarse it is pink and green, with tons of diamond dust and glitter. I used silver star garland and wrapped it in pieces around a pencil for the exploding whimsical top. I was really loving this tree...And you know that means a lot coming from me at Christmas time.

It was my turn to help with Birthdays this month and I made a LOVELY stair step fold card. Can you tell, I am so happy to finally be creating lately?!

I used Stampin' Up! Birthday Whimsy set. This technique is so easy and easily found on SCS under techniques.

I have more to share tomorrow, and a whole day off with permission to scrap all day!!! Yippeee!

Love,

Carrie

Yippeeee Yahoooo!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I found the little bag that had the stuff for my Mother in Law. I am so happy. I hope she likes everything that I am sending to her. I am sooo silly. It was in the stuff left over from the wanna be craft sale that I had on Saturday. Like, what the heck was it doing in there?! I knew it had to be here or somewhere at work. It was really driving me nutty.

O.k. off to bed, I am so excited for next week. Thanksgiving and I am off of work!!! Woo Hoo!!

Love ya!

Yiopppeee!!! Booohooo!!!

Ok, so I have been making stuff to send to my MIL in Seattle. To kind of show her examples of what she can do. I started her in scrapbooking about 2 years ago and she went back to Seattle and went crazy buying stuff and even has a room that is dedicated to it. She has not done really anyting in the last 2 years. But, she is still buying stuf...it's HILARIOUS!!!! So I wanted to show her some stuff to do that could be quick little bursts of accomplishment. Here is what I came up with... I used the Always set that she purchased from SU!Some quick little tags from the hostess set Dear Friends... A card using a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, the Holiday Wheel and embossing powder from SU!
And a quick little Halloween card using the Haunting wheel by SU!
And a sample using the cupcake wheel using embossing powder.
That's the yipppeee! part. The Boooohooo part is that I brought the bag of samples to work and between work and back home, I have misplaced it. I made a couple more samples, hopefully I will find these and mail them off later.
Just wanted to vent....again.

Get Ready!!!

Now that my mommy is getting better, and I am now a Demo for Stampin Up, and my Speeding ticket is due, and I need to go to Driver Safety and another class is coming with more books to buy....I need to get busy making some money!

I AM HAVING A CRAFT FAIR!!!!

If you didn't hear about my last yard sale, I made about $400.00. We have a large front yard and live on a busy little street. I am making this offer to anyone that is interested. You can bring a table and set up on Nov. 15th (Saturday). Contact me for confirmation and more details. This is a trial run for the day after Thankgiving. There will not be any charge on the 15th. All I ask is that if you are a SU! Demo, please do not advertise that you are a Demo. You can sell anything that has your name and info. I just would like to use this opportunity to maybe gain some customers and have the possibility of booking some workshops. If we have 10 tables with SU! info on it, it may be overwhelming.

Spread the word and let me know. It would be great to have quilters, painters...anything. I am so excited to get busy making some great stuff. I hope you are too.

Love,
Carrie

Random Update...

Well, well, well. Mom has surgery on Tues. Nov 4th. I haven't been doing too much creative wise. My sister from Arkansas is here visiting and I love it!! She is the only other scrapper in my family and we have been spending a lot of great time together. She is a little looney, but I love it!!

Something very exciting has happened. I have been wanting to join SU! to be a Demo for a long time now. I was hoping to have a huge party and get my kit a few months back, but with everything going on...it was put on the way back burner. I have a bucket of cards that I always have sitting on my desk and everyone at work knows me and the "crazy card lady". Because that's about all I talk about. Annnnnyways.... A friend of mine went to a SU! party and after telling me about it, she asked about the starter kit. But, if you buy the starter kit you also get the stuff to become a demo. She didn't want to become a demo.....I GOT ALL OF THE BUSINESS SUPPLIES AND GOT TO BECOME A DEMO!!!!! FOR FREE!!!!!! YIPPPEEEEEE!!!!! Granted, she got all of the actual supplies. I will totally be o.k. with that. I am broker than broke right now...with school, and the stupid couple of speeding tickets that I got recently....I needed a way to hopefully bring in some extra cash. And having another great excuse to buy more stuff can't hurt either.

I also got to borrow the "Always" set. I am not positive about the name, but it should be close. I was playing around with it and here are two cards I came up with. When I make a card, I like to make as many as possible to use up the patterned paper.
My next post will probably be after my moms surgery. Hope you all have a wonderfull Halloween!!!

My MOMMMY

SURPRISE!!!!!!

My mother would soooo kill me if she only knew about my blog...hahahhahahaa!!!

My family flew in from California and drove in from Arkansas to surprise my mom. Since she has been feeling so crummy and we thought she would have had the surgery while they were here. It was a WONDERFUL visit.

Above is the picture of my sis Sherrie (My twin), sneaking into bed with my mom as she was taking a nap. Afterthought.......maybe not trying to scare the S*** out of a sick lady would have been a better idea.

Here is a pic of my brother hugging his momma.

And a pic of my Sister Sherrie, neice Kaily and brother Alvin. Alvin is teaching Kaily how to pose for a pic. Duuuhhh Alvin!!! Like she doesn't have a KA-Billion self portraits on Myspace.
After wrestling with the Insurance Company. We found a docter with in the network and will hopefully have a surgery date by tomorrow.
I will keep you all posted.
Thanks for all of the love and support!!!!!!

Another Theraputic Moment....

Many of my friends know that I also use this blog as my theraputic outlet. It does help, I suggest that if you have a blog use it!!!

Last week we were told that my mother has 2 brain aneurisms. Not good. After a few appointments we are in the final stages of finding out how they are going to be removed. I won't go into the side effects, I will start to cry....again. Tomorrow we will get the readings of the EEG and go into to do a Angiogram to see the blood vessels more clearly and how the aneurisms are attached. They could burst/rupture at any moment, we just pray that they don't and she comes through the surgery/procedure without any side effects.

I don't know why I am deciding to post this. I guess just to vent. I don't think is fair to me, my family and most of all to my mommy. She hasn't had the best life. God knows all of us (her children) have put her through plenty. She is the glue that holds us together. The very thought of losing her is going to be very devistating to all of us.

Blakey needs him's Nana!!! And so does everyone else. Who will make Goose the worlds largest chocolate chip pancakes and cook us brownies for dinner and peach cobbler for dessert? What other mom in the world keeps a stash of king sized candy bars and tons of packages of Klondike bars in the freezer? And to use those as torpedoes coming in at your head while sitting on her couch watching t.v. And after the near miss knock out, yell at you for not paying attention or that she thought you were looking. LOl!!! She is the funniest lady in the WORLD!!! She has the personality of Rose off of the golden girls.

I just love her to pieces!!!! Let's hope tomorrow brings us closer to getting through this next (NOT FINAL) chapter in my moms life.

Mom,
After everything is over and alright, I will let you use the excuse of having this "brian thingy" as long as you want.

I love my mommy!!!

Weekend Productivity

Hey there!
Since I have to get back to hitting the books this week, I busted a move on creating this weekend. I started and about half way finished my "Boys that Rock" 8x8 album. I'll post pics of that when it is finished. I must say, it was nice to get back into scrapping and take a short break from the cards. But then I got right back into the cards, and this is what I got done.
This is a card that I made for a coworkers daughter that just went off to college. She joined the Kappa Delta soroity and the colors are green and part of their symbol is a tedday bear. I am not a huge dark green person, so this card was a challenge. I broke out the wishblade and whipped up this card.
The next are Cherry Blossom cards from a stamp that I got at JoAnns a while back. I love this stamp. It's fun to color and I used triple thick on the blossoms. Then it came time to make a few birthday cards. Very simple and I think they explain themselves very well. No special techniques.
Although it was a pretty productive weekend, I was pretty laid back. I also stuck with the challenge of not using any bellas. It's pretty bad when your husband asks "Do you only do bella cards?" So I proved him wrong. It may be a little bit before I have more to post.

Unitll then...

Big fat productive Hugs,

Carrie

New Cards for this week

I was able to play a little last Sunday and came up with a couple of cards. I need to get back into the creative groove again.

Below are new stamps that I got from Hobby Lobby. One is a cross (cause I didn't have one and everyone should). And one of 2 double sentiment stamps that I bought. There are a lot of serious illness's in our office. I thought I would start making some cards for that reason. The outside says "Sending you a little prayer.." and the outside says "That God keeps you in his care." I put just a little piece of bling in the middle of the cross.
The next card is Cookie Monster. I LOVE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!!!! And I bought the whole Sesame Street stamp set from Hobby Lobby almost a year ago and have only made this one card. My original idea was to make a Sesame Street themed book for my boys...it's still on my "TO DO" List. This card colored with regulard color pencils and used Gamsol OMS. I used
3-D Super Thick on the cookie jar. The chocolate chip paper is from JoAnn's.
The next is one of 3 similar cards. I found an awesome Coffee themed paper at my LSS. I was able to cut it up and had enough for 6 cards. Here ar e 3... The first one was made with a sentiment "Thanks a Latte" that was given to me by one of my sistah's. I used Javabella's . The next one is made with Lattebella and the sentiment is from Hobby Lobby. I used eyelets and set them with my Crop-a-dile. Tied a ribbon through the wholes and...voila!!The last one is from one of my sistah's. It was either Christi or Kimberlee. I got my stack messed up when I moved my room. I hate not being able to give proper credit. Sorry girls. I know the stamp is from MFT My Favorite Things. I know that because I have been stalking that company lately. I added some ribbon and flowers and I am very happy about the way this card turned out. I hope everyone is having a great week. I want to give a very excited shout out to my sistah Christi!! Yesterday was her wedding anniversary and this week is also her Stampin' Up! Anniversary. YOU GO GIRL!!! I HOPE YOU HAVE AN AWESOME WEEK!!!

Hugs,

Carrie
